Fresh off a 12-4 week, I am right back in the thick of things with my boy Aaron Truesdale. My record now is 43-21 on the year. We have some very good games this week that should be close, so I hope that I can keep up with the pace. Let’s get to the picks.
Thursday Night Football
Los Angeles Rams (3-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (2-2)
The Rams defense got flat out embarrassed last week against Arizona and I expect them to rebound in a big way against a bitter division rival. This is going to be Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald’s game. I’m calling 3 sacks with a forced fumble. Rams roll on Thursday and show the NFC that last week was just a bump in the road.
Winner: Rams 26-14
Sunday London Football Game
New York Jets (1-3) @ Atlanta Falcons (1-3)
Poor London. They get one boring game – oh, and it’s the Jets… and guess what? They will lose even though they won last week. Falcons win. Sorry London we’ll do better next time.
Winner: Atlanta 28-13
Early Sunday Football Games
Green Bay Packers (3-1) @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-1)
This is the game where the Bengals can show they are for real. Bad news Bengals fans, it’s not happening. They barely beat a Jaguars team that hasn’t won a game in over a year, lost to a bad Bears team, and damn near tied with Minnesota. Green Bay brings Cincy back to reality as Aaron Rodgers lights up that below average Bengals secondary. Back to reality Cincinnati.
Winner: Packers 34-20
Detroit Lions (0-4) @ Minnesota Vikings (1-3)
The Lions just aren’t good. Minnesota just knows how to lose in the most heartbreaking ways. I’ll go with Minnesota in one of the most pointless games of the day.
Winner: Vikings 23-13
Denver Broncos (3-1) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3)
The above picture is Ben pointing at retirement. But even with that, I got them winning this game. Denver might be down QB Teddy Bridgewater and that tilts this game for me. I do not trust Drew Lock. As much as it hurts me because I hate them, I’m picking Pittsburgh.
Winner: Steelers 24-20
Miami Dolphins (1-3) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
The Dolphins aren’t very good. The Bucs are. Bucs win. Easy peasy.
Winner: Buccaneers 30-16
New Orleans Saints (2-2) @ Washington Football Team (2-2)
This was my coin toss game this week. Tails Washington or heads New Orleans. Tails wins. I’m picking Washington.
Winner: Washington 24-21
Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) @ Carolina Panthers (3-1)
I just feel like the Eagles don’t believe in Jalen Hurts. But the Panthers do believe in Sam Darnold, even coming off the loss to Dallas, he played pretty well. I think Carolina rebounds and gets back to their winning ways this week against a struggling Eagles team.
Winner: Carolina 23-13
Tennessee Titans (2-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4)
The Jaguars are getting to the New York Jets’ level of embarrassing. Tennessee is going to be pissed after that horrible loss to the above-mentioned embarrassing Jets. Tennessee rebounds in a big way.
Winner: Titans 30-14
New England Patriots (1-3) @ Houston Texans (1-3)
New England played their best game of the year Sunday against Tampa Bay. I expect them to start improving more and more each week. You can see QB Mac Jones getting better. 18 straight completions last week against a very good defense. In comes Houston who isn’t good at much. Pats win easy and finally get another win.
Winner: Patriots 27-10
Sunday Afternoon Football Games
Chicago Bears (2-2) @ Las Vegas Raiders (3-1)
This game is one for some reason I expect to be closer than most will. The Raiders have my trust for now to handle an inferior team like the Bears. Will they keep that trust? We shall see Sunday. Don’t let me down Derek Carr.
Winner: Raiders 21-17
Cleveland Browns (3-1) @ Los Angeles Chargers (3-1)
Game of the day. Two of the best teams in the AFC and for me it comes down to the run game. The two headed monster of the Browns Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb will keep the electric (pun intended) Chargers offense off the field as the Browns win a close game and improve to 4-1 as they sit on top of the AFC.
Winner: Browns 26-21
New York Giants (1-3) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-1)
The Giants upset the New Orleans Saints last week. That won’t be happening this week. Dallas fresh off an impressive win over previously unbeaten Carolina, is going to beat up on their rival. Dallas might have this division wrapped up by Thanksgiving.
Winner: Cowboys 31-16
San Francisco 49ers (2-2) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-0)
The Cardinals just have too much for the 49ers to keep up with. Possibly having no Jimmy G would throw rookie QB Trey Lance right into the fire against a defense with Chandler Jones and JJ Watt running at him. No thanks San Fran, I’m rolling with Arizona to get to 5-0.
Winner: Cardinals 24-14
Sunday Night Football Game
Buffalo Bills (3-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)
I just need to see Josh Allen get over the hump against Kansas City. Every time they play, Patrick Mahomes and company come away with the win and I expect the same in a shootout. Mahomes leads a late drive in the fourth and hits TE Travis Kelce to once again defeat Josh Allen and the Bills.
Winner: Chiefs 34-30
Monday Night Football Game
Indianapolis Colts (1-3) @ Baltimore Ravens (3-1)
Lamar Jackson. This guy is an athletic freak and he will be hard for the Colts to take down Monday night at home with a loud crowd. I think the Colts can keep it competitive for three quarters, but I expect Baltimore to pull away in the fourth and get to 4-1.
Winner: Ravens 30-20
