Rough week for me pick-wise but no worries because I am ready to rebound in Week 3. I went 11-5 this week, which isn’t bad, my buddy Aaron Truesdale and I are dead-locked at 21-11. I feel really good about my picks this week so lets get to them. Get your money ready as I’m going to give you all my money picks.
Thursday Night Football
Carolina Panthers (2-0) @ Houston Texans (1-1)
Sam Darnold has weapons and Carolina has a defense. Houston has Davis Mills (might be his name, it wasn’t worth me googling tbh). Panthers roll in a Thursday night game that is over by halftime so I can go to bed early.
Winner: Panthers 31-10
Early Sunday Football Games
Washington Football Team (1-1) @ Buffalo Bills (1-1)
This is going to be a good game. Two good defenses and two quarterbacks playing well. I give the edge to Josh Allen and the Bills. I just don’t think Washington has an answer for Stephon Diggs. Close low-scoring game that the Bills win at home.
Winner: Bills 19-13
Chicago Bears (1-1) @ Cleveland Browns (1-1)
Justin Fields is nowhere close to being ready to be a starter in the NFL. He legit needs to sit for a year. But what do I know, Ohio State quarterbacks do so well in the NFL right? He struggled against the Bengals and will against the Browns too. Browns roll. Next.
Winner: Browns 33-9
Baltimore Ravens (1-1) @ Detroit Lions (0-2)
The Lions are horrible. The Ravens are coming off a HUGE win over the Chiefs and this will not be a let-down game. I expect them to continue to run the ball and the Lions will have no answer for Lamar Jackson and company. Lamar tops 300 yards passing and 100 rushing in this game. Sorry Detroit fans.
Winner: Ravens 29-10
Indianapolis Colts (0-2) @ Tennessee Titans (1-1)
No Carson Wentz (again) as he hurt both ankles last week so this just looks like an easy win for the Titans. I expect a lot of Derrick Henry as Tennessee dominates this game from beginning to end. Colts fall to a shocking 0-3 to start the year.
Winner: Titans 24-10
Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) @ Kansas City Chiefs (1-1)
Shootout. These teams both have very explosive offenses and I expect both of them to put up a lot of points. I just can’t see Mahomes and company losing back-to-back games. This is going to be a fun game to watch and I’m glad I own Mahomes in fantasy because after seeing Dak light up this Chargers defense last week, just imagine what Mahomes is going to do.
Winner: Chiefs 41-34
New Orleans Saints (1-1) @ New England Patriots (1-1)
Mac Jones! Who? Mac Jones! Who? I really hope that catches on. But lets talk about the strength of this team which is the defense. After making Zach Wilson see ghosts last week, in comes turnover-prone Jameis Winston, fresh off a horrible game against Carolina. Bad news for Winston is the Pats defense is light years better than Carolina’s so he is not going to have a fun day. Winston throws 2 picks as Mac Jones manages another stellar game as the defense dominates and gets New England to 2-1. Sorry Yvonne.
Winner: Patriots 24-13
Atalanta Falcons (0-2) @ New York Giants (0-2)
Someone has to win right? It’d be hilarious if this game ended in a tie. The Giants put up one hell of a fight against Washington last week and I do see them winning this game in what will be a boring game that almost no one will watch on TV. I’m just picking this game because I have to honestly. Go Giants go.
Winner: Giants 20-13
Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1)
I keep remembering the game from last year when the Bengals beat Pittsburgh missing half of their offense. This being a divisional game I do think it’s going to be very competitive. Burrow will keep Cincy in it but I can’t trust this offensive line against the Steelers front 7. I hope I’m wrong, because I hate Pittsburgh almost as much as I hate Ohio State, but I gotta go with the Steelers here.
Winner: Steelers 27-20
Arizona Cardinals (2-0) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
The Jaguars better be glad the Jets exist or else they’d be the biggest joke in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence looks like crap and Urban Meyer is over-matched by the NFL. See picture above. He should have never left college and the Cardinals will reinforce that by throttling them this week. Kyler Murray goes off for 4 more TDs as Arizona improves to 3-0.
Winner: Cardinals 37-17
Sunday Afternoon Football Games
New York Jets (0-2) @ Denver Broncos (2-0)
Did you see the Jets last week? Zach Wilson needs to go back to the Disney channel. Look how scared he is lol. Denver rolls.
Winner: Broncos 27-3
Miami Dolphins (1-1) @ Las Vegas Raiders (2-0)
The Dolphins look like they might be without Tua for a bit but it wouldn’t matter. Derek Carr’s Raiders are playing very well and I expect that to continue this week. It’ll be a close game until halftime with Vegas pulling away in the second half. Raiders jump to a surprising 3-0 start.
Winner: Raiders 26-13
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) @ Los Angeles Rams (2-0)
Statement game. The LA Rams need to make one and this is the game to do it in. Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, Chris Godwin, Gronk and so much more star power in this game. A late field goal seals this game as the Rams show the NFL they are for real and they are coming for the Super Bowl.
Winner: Rams 31-28
Seattle Seahawks (1-1) @ Minnesota Vikings (0-2)
The Vikings have a lot of fight, they just can’t seem to find a kicker. I think they will battle but they just don’t have enough to be what should be a pissed off Seahawk team who should have beat the Titans last week. DK Metcalf goes off in this game as the Seahawks rebound.
Winner: Seahawks 24-18
Sunday Night Football Game
Green Bay Packers (1-1) @ San Francisco 49ers (2-0)
I love the 49ers in this match-up. I just feel like the 49ers might be that dark horse in the NFC. I don’t believe Aaron Rodgers gives a shit about this year and is just in Green Bay because he has to be. He’s counting down the days until he’s traded. I think this is a good game but a late Rodgers interception costs them as they are driving late in the fourth. Jimmy G gets the 49ers to 3-0.
Winner: 49ers 24-20
Monday Night Football Game
Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
The Dallas Cowboys have looked fantastic over the first two weeks. I know, I know – how long until they look like the “normal choking Cowboys” again. This offense is loaded and the Eagles fresh off losing best pass rusher Brandon Graham I see the Cowboys offense running wild. Another breakout game for RB Tony Pollard as he shows he should be getting more touches each week.
Winner: Cowboys 37-23
