Hi, I am going to give you a fantasy football outlook on all 32 teams. I will be doing this in alphabetical order. It will be 32 teams in the next 32 days. I will be giving a fantasy stud, fantasy bust, fantasy breakout player, fantasy sleeper, top fantasy rookie, and since some leagues do defensive players – instead of team defensive, I will be doing top fantasy defensive player. So let’s get this started. Please follow me on Twitter @aaron_truesdale.
The Detroit Lions are a team with not many fantasy football options though there are few solid ones out there. Hopefully, they improve as the season progresses and for years to come. These are the players I came up with to look for and avoid in fantasy football.
Fantasy Stud: T.J. Hockenson TE
Hockenson has been the most consistent fantasy player for the Lions the last couple of seasons and looks to continue to be consistent and remain a tight end one in fantasy football. Hockenson is the Lion you can trust the most fantasy-wise.
Fantasy Bust: Jared Goff QB
Lions why? They go younger at the quarterback position but downgrade severely as well. I never have and never will trust Goff in fantasy football, so I would avoid him and place him on your ‘do not draft’ list.
Fantasy Sleeper: Jamaal Williams RB
Williams left the Packers to go to the Lions – which all in all, wasn’t a bad move especially with all the turmoil going on in Green Bay right now. I believe he could be a late-round sleeper in fantasy football because he will be brought in to keep Swift’s legs fresh. In addition, with the lack of receivers on the Lions, he could see tons of targets in the passing game and that will make him beneficial in fantasy football this season.
Fantasy Breakout: D’Andre Swift RB
Swift is without a doubt, the most talented player on the Lions and he will prove that this season as he will burst into the fantasy football scene and will be a running back one right out the gate. I believe he will finish as a top-five back, so if he is available late in the first or early second rounds, swipe him up fast and you won’t be disappointed.
Top Fantasy Rookie: Amon-Ra St. Brown WR
Brown could end up being the most talented and productive receiver on the Lions this season. So if you’re in a dynasty league, draft him quickly. If you’re in a re-draft league, draft him late as a wide receiver three or wide receiver four as I think he’ll be worth the gamble.
Top Fantasy Defensive Player: Michael Brockers DL
I had some trouble picking a defensive fantasy guy for the Lions and ultimately, decided to go with recently acquired Michael Brockers. If anyone is going to have any fantasy value defensively for the Lions it will be him. So if you want to take a late-round chance on someone defensively he’s your guy.
I hope you enjoy my Team Fantasy Outlooks. Please comment to let me know what you think I welcome the feedback. I also will be more than happy to discuss any player or team further.
