With Wrestlemania 37 behind us its time to talk about next year right? I for one am a person who has zero patience so I couldn’t wait to start booking Wrestlemania 38. I LOVE fantasy booking as most of you know if you have ever watched my show RSH (which you can catch every Thursday at 6ET time on The Buzz). Anyways, as we await the Wrestlemania 37 card to be more clearer I’m going to get you ready for next year. Check out my top 5 match predictions for Wrestlemania next year. Comment below and let me know what you think.
5.) Adam Cole vs AJ Styles
Yes, I like everyone else would love to see AJ Styles or Adam Cole go one on one with Shawn Michaels but unfortunately due to his age and body falling apart from years in the business Shawn will most likely never be able to do any more matches. What’s the next best thing? Let’s rekindle an old rivalry from the Indy days. AJ Styles is an absolute animal in the ring and can carry any man in any kind of match, then you have Adam Cole who is the greatest NXT Champion (so far) of all time and a fantastic wrestler in his own right. You could even make this more interesting and somehow sneak Shawn in as maybe the special referee or something also to give this match a little more spice (as if it’ll need it). These two men would steal the show and be most fans vote for the match that is most likely to be the best of the night if it is on the card. I’d personally love to see this match and I know most wrestling fans would as well. I’m hoping this match happens and without a doubt, this match would be PHENOMENAL and that my friends is 100% UNDISPUTED. BOOM! (Yeah had to sneak that in before the group is officially split up).
4.) CM Punk vs Stone Cold Steve Austin
This one has everything you need in a match. Star power, long term story telling, strong personalities, mic work and whatever else you can think of. This is a dream match of almost every wrestling fan and yes I do honestly think this has a chance to happen. The recent twitter exchange between Stone Cold and CM Punk even adds a little more optimism to it for me as well. I do think CM Punk will make his huge return at some point after fans are allowed back in and what better way to have his first match back than with one of the best ever Stone Cold Steve Austin. This match would deliver for the old school and new school fans and hopefully bring back some viewership the WWE has lost in the last couple of years with their decline in ratings. No better place than Texas (where Austin is from) for this to happen as it features two of the biggest stars in the WWE past and present.
3.) The Fiend Bray Wyatt & Alexa Bliss vs Karrion Kross & Scarlett
This is a personal dream match of mine and with Karrion Kross looking like he’s on the fast track to the main roster within the next year I don’t see why this can’t happen. The Fiend and Alexa Bliss have been the best thing on Monday Night Raw since they were drafted there a few months back and I just expect them to continue to grow more and more as time goes on. Kross and Scarlett I expect to be on the main roster sometime after Summerslam and what bigger match can you have for these these four than this. The clash in styles between these four are must see no matter what. This would also be one hell of a Wrestlemania debut match for Kross and Scarlett as I don’t expect them to be on the card this year as I see them in NXT for a bit more time. The promos, build up and match itself are all reasons for fans to hope this match happens and for everyone’s sake I hope it does.
2.) The Rock vs Roman Reigns
This one just writes itself right? Family vs Family. Past vs Present. Legend vs Future Legend. What else do I even need to say? This would be so easy to book a 5-year-old could do it (no WWE please don’t try it I was kidding). Roman has already come out in past said he would love to have a match with Rocky and Rocky has said the same in many interviews. This would be the ultimate “passing of the torch” moment. Look at the amazing work Roman is putting in since turning heel and in the ultimate babyface like The Rock and Romans star would just get bigger. Would it be more ideal for Hollywood at Wrestlemania 39? The picture above made you think I made a mistake right? Na. The Rock isn’t getting any younger and they can’t keep Roman this hot for 2 more years. This match screams money (it’s such good shit Vince would say) and it would draw the casual fan and mainstream media due to The Rock’s involvement (which WWE loves). There is no real reason for WWE not to do this even though it’s not in Hollywood.
1.) The Four Horsewomen of WWE vs The Four Horsewomen of MMA
It seems logical to think this match was going to happen as soon as Ronda Rousey signed with WWE right? Rousey’s involvement with Becky Lynch and Charlotte (main eventing Wrestlemania 35) and a still ongoing feud with Becky. Throw in Becky’s feud with Shayna Bayzler and the fact on ESPN Sportscenter the day after she defeated Bayzler at Wrestlemania 36 last year Becky said “ Two down, two to go “ referring to the remaining two women she has yet to come in contact with Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. The eight women have taken various shots at each other on social media, in interviews, hell the MMA horsewomen used to show up at various NXT events when Bayley, Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky were all down there together. This is another storyline that writes itself and would also attract fans from outside just the typical wrestling fans. The tension and balancing of the egos between Becky, Sasha, Charlotte, and Bayley leading up to this match would also be fun to watch as they all try to get on the same page to accomplish the goal of taking down the common enemy. This would be very fun and entertaining to watch and I pray we FINALLY get this feud which has been teased for years and what better place to have it than at the biggest stage of them all Wrestlemania.
