It seems to be official that former Impact Women’s Champion and superstar Taya Valkyrie has signed with the WWE to begin wrestling for their NXT brand, based off a report by PWInsider who broke the story about Valkyrie and WWE agreeing to a deal.
The company is looking to bring in many top stars from around the globe to expand their already stacked roster of superstars. Also included in the report by PWInsider was an expectation that she would be a part of the next class of signings when they were announced.
Valkyrie made history while working in Impact holding the record for longest-reigning Women’s Champion. She made her debut for the promotion going back to 2017 and her last appearance for Impact was just this past January.
Lance Storm trained Valkyrie, and she made a name for herself by wrestling in Lucha Underground, DDT Pro-Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, this is significant due to her currently holding the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
An important thing to remember is that her husband is WWE wrestler John Morrison who signed with WWE back in 2020. This marked Morrison’s return to the company after he had been gone after several years wrestling in other companies. WWE has already started making big moves by also signing Blake Christian and Christian Casanova.
