One WWE NXT superstar we have not seen in a while is the Velveteen Dream. This makes many of us wonder why we have not got to see him wrestle on TV since 2020.
Triple H was quick to dismiss any rumors that WWE had released Dream from the company. Triple H would address all of the preconceived speculations during a Thursday, February 11th, conference call with all of the media to promote Sunday’s NXT event called NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day Special. Dream has yet to make an appearance on the brand since a December 23rd episode of NXT when he went up against Adam Cole. What’s important to remember is that Velveteen Dream was absent for close to a month before returning to the black and gold brand prior to this most recent absence. Dating back to September, he has wrestled a total of five matches. We even saw Dream feud with Kushida and Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American Championship not too long ago.
So, it had fans and wrestling media alike making assumptions about his whereabouts within the WWE. Last year, Dream was in a car accident. He also faced accusations for inappropriate photos and texts he sent young kids. NXT has kept quiet on explaining why he suddenly hasn’t been on television lately. Triple H made a statement regarding the situation and confirmed Dream remains on their roster and is still training at the Performance Center, adding that he’s already gone over this point with the media a million times.
