Earlier today Vanity Fair released our first look at Jared Leto’s new Joker in the Knightmare timeline of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. We had already known that Joker was going to have a more “road-weary” look in this film, based on what Zack Snyder had revealed in a previous interview, but until now, there had been no actual pictures revealed of this look.
These new images show us a very different look from how Joker had last appeared in the DCEU. And with the amount of hate that has gotten over the years, perhaps that is for the best. We see in these images, Joker’s face is covered in much heavier makeup and his tattoos are either gone or covered. He wears an apron that appears to have blood stains, and thick gloves. His hair has also grown out. The heavy makeup on his forehead leads me to believe that Joker still has his previous tattoos and they are just being covered up. The damaged forehead tattoo, covered with makeup, and the apron and gloves hiding the rest of his tattoos.
This is the third character from the Knightmare timeline of Zack Snyder’s Justice League who we have seen revealed; following the Batman and Deathstroke reveals previously. Joker’s new look seems to fit in with the looks we have seen from Batman and Deathstroke. All of them look more disheveled and broken down from their normal looks. The question remains: will we see an alliance between these three characters in the Knightmare timeline? We will get our answer soon enough with Zack Snyder’s Justice League streaming on HBO Max starting on March 18.
