Hey football fans! I’m back with my 2nd Mock Draft of the year – post Super Bowl.
1. Jaguars: Justin Fields QB Ohio St.
Now I know Lawrence should be automatic here but the Jaguars hired Urban Meyer. Who Recruited Fields in college. There is a good chance he could go with the quarterback he feels more comfortable with. Now, with Lawrence having surgery to repair his shoulder Meyer will find it too risky to draft him first overall.
2. Jets: Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson
The Jets catch a huge break and win the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. If he does drop it will be the biggest steal of draft and this will be a no brainer pick for the Jets.
3. Dolphins: Devonta Smith WR Alabama
A lot a people believe Chase is the best receiver in the draft but I don’t think he is and the Dolphins will see it as well and draft Smith. He in my opinion is a once in lifetime wide receiver and I feel he is the best player in the draft.
4. Falcons: Zach Wilson QB Byu
Time to move on from Ryan. Falcons will do just that and Select Wilson out of Byu. Who I feel is the most talented quarterback in this draft. This will be an easy choice for the Falcons.
5. Bengals: Penei Sewell OT Oregon
How Lucky are the Bengals as the best offensive tackle in the draft falls to them. They will not hesitate because this is the guy they need to help protect there prize quarterback Joe Burrow.
6. Eagles: Ja’marr Chase WR Lsu
Whoever is the quarterback for the Eagles next year whether it be Wentz or Hurts. The fact of the matter is they will need somebody talented to throw too and Chase is that guy.
7. Lions: Rashawn Slater OT Northwestern
The Lions will need someone to protect newly acquired Jared Goff. They will do just that by drafting the talented Slater out of Northwestern. Slater is the second-best tackle in this draft and Goff will be happy to have him in Detroit.
8. Panthers: Kyle Pitts TE Florida
Lot of people have the Panthers going quarterback at this slot but I don’t think they will be ready to give up on Bridgewater quite yet. So they will get him another big target in Kyle Pitts out of Florida.
9. Broncos: Mac Jones QB Alabama
I believe the Broncos are done with Lock and will be looking to replace him. They will do just that by taking Mac Jones out of Alabama. I believe he is the perfect fit for Elway and the Broncos. He will help them get a step closer to being a playoff contender.
10. Cowboys: Kwity Paye EDGE Michigan
Let’s face it that Cowboys defense needs tons of help and I believe that starts with a pass rush. Which is why they won’t hesitate to take Paye who they will believe is a steal at 10.
11. Giants: Christian Darrishaw OT Virginia Tech
The Giants are not quite ready to give up on Jones but in order for him to be successful he needs some protection and Darrishaw is the first step towards the goal.
12. 49ers: Caleb Farley DB Virginia Tech
The 49ers need help at defensive back and no better than the best cornerback in this year draft Caleb Farley.
13. Chargers: Alex Leatherwood OT Alabama
Herbert burst on to the scene this year and now you got protect your assets and Leatherwood provides that protection.
14. Vikings: Micah Parson LB Penn St.
The Vikings need help on defense and they will be shocked Parson is still available and will not hesitate. Parson will be great start to making that defense better.
15. Patriots: Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama
Belichek doesn’t like rookie quarterbacks. That’s why I believe they will sign one in free agency and he will have to get that quarterback a dynamic receiver and drafting Waddle will give them just that.
16. Cardinals: Patrick Surtain II DB Alabama
The Cardinals need help defensively and they will go with a guy who has good NFL bloodlines. Surtain will be good building block to getting better on the defensive side of the ball.
17. Raiders: Gregory Rosseau EDGE Miami (FL)
The Raiders biggest weak point was they had no pass rush so drafting Rosseau is a good first step in putting pressure on the quarterback.
18. Dolphins: Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE Wake Forest
The Dolphins could use an Edge Rusher like Basham to put more pressure on quarterbacks and make the already impressive defense even more impressive. That’s scary for other team’s in the NFL.
19. Football Team: Trey Lance QB North Dakota St.
Now I believe Smith will be back for the Football Team or some other veteran quarterback will be there. Drafting Lance who is raw to sit behind a veteran for a year so he can develop into a franchise quarterback.
20. Bears: Kyle Trask QB Flordia
The Bears will move on from Trubisky. So they will set their sites on the talented Kyle Trask from Flordia to be their answer for years to come.
21. Colts: Jaycee Horn DB South Carolina
The Colts would want a quarterback but with none left worthy of a first round pick. They will go with Horn to improve their secondary. Horn will be a steal for the Colts at 21.
22. Titans: Samuel Cosmi OT Texas
Titans will look to make there offensive line better to help protect Tannehill so taking Cosmi will help with that situation.
23. Jets: Jalen Mayfield OT Michigan
The Jets got Lawrence with the second overall pick. Now they will want to protect their new franchise quarterback. So enter Jalen Mayfield he will be the first step towards protecting their new asset.
24. Steelers: Nick Bolton LB Missouri
Now I know Steelers fans won’t be happy with this selection because the Steelers need so much on offense. Bolton is the perfect pick for the Steelers. He has Steeler written all over him and is everything the Steelers want in a linebacker. Bolton is athletic, quick, hard-hitting, and can drop into pass coverage as well. With Williams getting old, they can move on from him with this selection. They will address the offensive needs with the rest of their picks in the draft. I’m a Steelers fan, I know he isn’t the popular selection, but he is the perfect selection.
25. Jaguars: Alijah Vera-Tucker OL Usc
The Jaguars drafted their franchise quarterback Justin Fields and now they need to protect there asset. So Vera-Tucker is perfect for them because he is such versatile offensive lineman.
26. Browns: Zaven Collins LB Tulsa
The Browns need to improve their defense. The linebacker position is the perfect place to start by selecting Collins out of Tulsa. He will have a dynamic impact on their defense right away.
27. Ravens: Terrace Marshall Jr. WR Lsu
The Ravens need to get Lamar to be a better passer that’s starts by getting him an impactful wide receiver. Marshall will have the impact the Ravens need to make Lamar an even scarier quarterback.
28. Saints: Dylan Moses LB Alabama
The Saints will handle their offensive needs by free agency. I believe they will resign Winston and use him and Hill at the quarterback position and I also think they sign a dynamic receiver as well. So they will focus on making their defense even scarier by drafting Dylan Moses out of Alabama.
29. Packers: Paris Ford S Pittsburgh
Packers could use a hybrid safety. Ford is a guy who I think will make an impact from day 1 for this defense. My Nfl Comparison is Budda Baker/ Tyrann Mathieu he is that good in my eyes. I also believe he has the potential to be a Troy Polamalu/ Ed Reed safety. The Packers will get great value in this late first-round pick. This pick could end up being the steal of the draft. Also could be the best player taken in the first round as well.
30. Bills: Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame
The Bills have to protect their prized quarterback. Eichenberg can provide that for them. This pick will put a big smile on Josh Allen’s face.
31. Chiefs: Kadarius Toney WR Flordia
After a tough lost in the Super Bowls one thing was clear they didn’t have a great weapon beyond Kelce and Hill. So therefore they will look to get another weapon in the draft and Toney is the perfect receiver for the Chiefs. He a speedster who can make plays with his speed and that is what the Chief’s offense is all about. Speed speed and more speed. Toney is the perfect fit for Mahomes and this offense. This will make the Chiefs offense even more deadly.
32. Buccaneers: Jalen Phillips DE Miami (fl)
The Buccaneers don’t have many weakness and that was proven in the Super Bowl this year. Now with that said Suh is getting old and I think they can go younger on the defensive line and cut ties with Suh. So enter Jalen Phillips he would be the perfect fit for this defense and will provide a pass rush and more youth to this already young Tampa Bay defense.
Please comment and let me know what you think. Also if you would like to discuss any of the picks with me.
