WWE has made it official they have released Smackdown superstar Steve Cutler who originally had been part of the group The Forgotten Sons. Cutler along with Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker began their careers in WWE dating back to 2014 for NXT, before getting called up to the main roster to compete on Friday Night Smackdown.
Here is a statement from WWE concerning Cutler’s release, “WWE has come to terms on the release of Steve Cutler. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
The group faded off of WWE television and none of the three men had been seen in a span of several months. Cutler and Blake returned to Smackdown to become a part of King Corbin’s stable as the Knights of the Lone Wolf. Jaxson Ryker also returned and he was aligned with Elias on Raw. We still don’t have any details or any other information at this particular time regarding the reason why Steve Cutler was released from WWE. One possibility could be another cost-cutting measure. Lars Sullivan had also been released by the company but that is not believed to be budget-related though.
We wish him the very best at whatever he chooses to do. Cutler is a talented wrestler for sure.
