We here at What-The-Buzz.com are saddened to learn the news of Roderick McMahon passing away at the age of 77. Roderick “Rod” McMahon died on Wednesday January 20th, he was the son of Vincent James McMahon and Victoria Askew and the brother of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. Rod in fact was Vince’s only sibling. He was born in Long Island, New York on October 12, 1943, his home was in Willis, Texas.
What is still not known at this time is what caused his death. Rod did not get involved with the McMahon family business like his grandfather Roderick J. McMahon, father Vincent J. McMahon, and brother Vincent K. McMahon had done. Rod did however attend some events for the WWE at times, which would include the WWE Hall of Fame. Rod honorably served his country by being a member of the United States Airforce and he was stationed over in Ramstein AFB Germany, and that’s where he met the love of his life, his wife Jamice. The couple got married on November 11, 1967. They founded North American Metals Inc. going back to 1987, which ran steel, custom forging, and a special metals distribution company which was based out of the Houston, Texas area.
This was written on Rod McMahon’s obituary; “he was a leader, a mentor, a counselor and most importantly a friend to all. A kind and generous soul, a character that one could only hope to emulate. Rod loved life, his other passions included his family, friends, shooting sports, all things dogs, and his enduring and fervent support of local law enforcement. Rod never met a stranger and was the first to lend a hand to anyone in need.”
Rod McMahon is survived by his mother, Victoria Askew, his loving wife of 53 years Jamice Gaygan McMahon and their two sons, Rome McMahon and his wife Kate, and Troy McMahon and his wife Ashley. Their grandchildren, Law, Blake, Ty, Trace, Tatum, and TJ. His brother Vincent K. McMahon and wife Linda and their children, son Shane McMahon and wife Marissa and sons Declan, Kenyan, and Rogan and daughter Stephanie McMahon Levesque and Husband Paul with their daughters Aurora, Murphy, and Vaughn.
We send our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the entire McMahon family.
