Great news for wrestling fans, one of the best wrestling superstars to ever perform in the ring, looks to do it again. Sean Waltman who for many will know from his time in WWE as the 1-2-3 Kid, Syxx in WCW with the NWO, and most famously X-Pac with DX in WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer Waltman recently did a fan Q & A on his own podcast titled X-Pac 12360. He said on the show that he was unsatisfied with his last match, and made a revelation of how he has now been cured of Hepatitis C.
Sean Waltman discussed several different things. “There’s a lot of folks out there who would fit that bill of right opponents,” he said. His last matches were not the best experience, especially when he was such a skilled in-ring worker and one of the best. He shared his thoughts as to why that is by stating, “My very last match at WrestleMania weekend was a pivotal moment,” He took part in a six-man matchup, it was him, Hurricane Helms and Liger on Liger’s farewell tour and it didn’t go how he wanted, explained Waltman. Some of the spots, not to mention the finish, got screwed up. X-Pac was upset and blew a gasket using his own words. He must have been hard to deal with at that moment.
Waltman continued on in the discussion by saying, “I was like, ‘If I’m going to be like that, then I shouldn’t be having matches.’ These guys are doing the best they can. They’re not as experienced as I’m talking. It’s way too serious,” but that’s how Waltman was used to doing it. With all that being said, Waltman had Hepatitis C for a long time and that kept him out of the ring. “I tested positive for it when I came back to TNA and was doing stuff, working with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Hogan came in with Eric into TNA after all that.” After this, Waltman could not get cleared in states with the athletic commissions to wrestle. So neither WWE and TNA could have him in matches. The way they worked around the situation is by having Waltman do very little when it came to matches, nothing serious, no blood. Waltman then revealed the awesome news about how he was cured of Hepatitis C. He said it was just in 2020, when he got the final news. “I haven’t mentioned it publicly before, it costs $100 a treatment. It’s a $1,000 pill every day. I feel great. I didn’t feel anything.”
“People are going, ‘How come he never came back? So, that’s the reason, but now, that’s clear. So now, I’m going to get my knee fixed. I’ve had a torn ACL since before the turn of this decade. I was still living in Mexico and I tore My ACL. It was around 2008. So, I’m going to get that fixed. Sometime next year, I’ll put myself on the market to have a few more matches. People go, ‘Hey, you got another run left in you.’ Everyone thinks they got one more run left in them. I don’t care if a dude in a wheelchair, he’ll swear to God he has another run left in him.”
Waltman has said in the past that he was done with wrestling, but things change with the terrific news of Shawn being cured of Hepatitis C. When asked if he could work a regular schedule and just how many matches Waltman still has left in him. He answered by saying this, “No, I could, but I don’t know if I want to. I probably have got a half dozen good hard matches in me.”
We at the Buzz are happy to hear Sean Waltman has been cured, personally been a big fan of his. When you go back and watch a match of 1-2-3 Kid, maybe Syxx with NWO in WCW, notably X-Pac with DX. Fans are always treated to some great matchups.
