Borussia Dortmund have announced that following their 5-1 loss at home to Stuttgart manager Lucien Favre has been released. The German side has announced that Edin Terzic will take charge until the end of the season.
Dortmund currently sit 5th in the Bundesliga after 11 matches but have failed to win in any of their last 5 matches in all competitions. Although the German outfit finished top of their Champions League group, their league form has left a sour taste in the fans mouths.
As a result, Favre felt the wrath of the board. With the hope that a change in management will see the Black and Yellow push towards challenging the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig for the title.
Favre became the Dortmund manager after a successful 2 year spell on charge of Nice in Ligue 1. Before that, Favre was the head coach of fellow German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach and managed in the league before with Hertha Berlin. However, his third stint in the German top flight was substantially shorter than his first.
Borussia Dortmund will look to get back on track on Tuesday when they face Werder Bremen but will a new manager bring a new sense of urgency?
