Promotions often advertise a double main event but rarely is their claim true. Tonight is one of those rare times because we have the finals of two tournaments capping off tonight’s festivities. G.O.D. attempted to keep FinJuice from repeating in the World Tag League. Also, Hiromu Takahashi took on El Desperado in the BOSJ final. Find out who won at the WORLD TAG LEAGUE 2020 & BEST OF THE SUPER Jr.27 Finals.
1) Taiji Ishimori, Chase Owens & Bad Luck Fale def Robbie Eagles, SHO & Toru Yano
Yano tried to bodyslam Fale but obviously couldn’t. Eagles was impressive again because of his ability to flip out of trouble. However, Eagles ate a Grenade Launcher for the loss. Yano tried again to slam Fale after the match but got his KOPW trophy broken for his efforts. (5m 53s)
2) Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan & Will Ospreay def Toa Henare, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kazuchika Okada
This was fun because we finally got to see The Empire together. In the end, O-Khan locked up Tanahashi and Cobb hit Henare with a Tour of the Islands for the victory. The Empire also assaulted Okada and Tanahashi after the win. (10m 45s)
3) SANADA & Shingo Takagi def Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL
Togo took out SANADA for much of the match due to a choke. Gino Gambino hilariously claimed that Togo was making sure his neck was the proper dimension for the match. A fired-up SANADA returned and turned the tide. A win wasn’t enough for SANADA because he continued his assault on EVIL. Shingo also didn’t celebrate because of a Jeff Cobb assault.
4) Master Wato & Kota Ibushi def BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito
This match was interesting because we got a preview of Wrestle Kingdom’s night 1. Wato was surprisingly able to take out Naito. This resulted in a kamagoye for BUSHI and a victory for Ibushi and Wato. (10m 6s)
5) WORLD TAG LEAGUE 2020 FINALS: Tanga Loa & Tama Tonga def David Finlay & Juice Robinson
The referee tossed Jado out immediately but he naturally came back. FinJuice was prepared for Jado’s interference. However, they weren’t prepared for interference by KENTA. KENTA’s help allowed G.O.D. to get the win. (22m 15s)
6) BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 27 FINALS: Hiromu Takahashi def El Desperado
This was a very good match until Desperado’s mask was torn off. It then became a great match. It allowed them to talk openly about when Desperado was young Lion Kyosuke Mikami and his history with Hiromu. After an intense melee, Hiromu hit multiple finishers to win BOSJ 2020. Hiromu celebrated but not before challenging the winner of the upcoming Super-J Cup. (30m 14s)
