Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania Opponent?

A lot of fans are wanting the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns to face his cousin The Rock at next year’s WrestleMania in 2021. Both Roman and The Rock seem to be interested in making that happen for the WWE Universe. Apparently, there’s a rumor going around stating WWE has a list of names who might be Reigns’ opponents, a match that would headline the show in which people consider the SuperBowl of professional wrestling, we are of course referring to WrestleMania. Possible names being reported are Goldberg, The Rock, Drew McIntyre, Daniel Bryan, and Big E have all been talked about as being selected to challenge the “Tribal Chief” Reigns for his Universal title.

Still, all we know about the circumstances regarding the booking for Roman Reigns match at Mania, is nothing more than a rumor to create the illusion that we as fans really think we know the creative direction WWE gonna go with this when talking about Roman Reigns and who he will go up against at the company’s biggest show of every year. From what we’ve seen go down lately with Goldberg, I do think we will eventually see that, maybe soon for Reigns. To me, if we’re talking WrestleMania, then The Rock or Drew McIntyre has to be the opponent for Reigns. I would put Daniel Bryan into that conversation as well because that would make for an outstanding matchup. Big E could fit in after Kevin Owens after TLC and their feud over when taking on Reigns even after Goldberg. All of this is just me giving my opinion, nothing is set in stone obviously. It’s not like any of us are going to know what WWE is thinking when laying out and planning where to go with Roman Reigns.

Let me add this, the Roman Reigns storyline on Friday Night Smackdown has been great, actually it’s one of those storylines that keeps me as a fan and viewer invested in what Roman, Paul Heyman, and Jey Uso are doing. Here are the simple reasons and explanations for why I can believe and buy into it because neither Roman nor Jey have to rely heavily on scripts. It comes naturally to them, there is a key ingredient and element to the story they believe what they are saying and so do the fans. A story like this draws one in, wrestling is supposed to make the audience suspend their disbelief on television. From what we are watching lately on Smackdown and pay-per-views on the WWE Network the whole idea, the concept is working quite well. I’m a big fan of how WWE has positioned the Universal Champion Roman Reigns, aligning him with Heyman, and adding Jey Uso to the mix.

Who do you think Reigns takes on next? Let me know in the comments!
